Charleston City Market Haiti Donation Drive

Haiti Donation DriveThe Historic Charleston City Market has a direct connection to the people of Haiti, having housed refugees from Cape Francois, Sainte Domingue (Haiti) in 1793 in the Market Hall section between Meeting and Church Streets while the City Market was still under construction (please visit The Charleston History Advocate at charlestonarchive.org/ for the full history of the market's relationship to Haiti). There are currently merchants operating in the City Market who are native Haitians and have family members who are suffering through this catastrophe.

Beginning Saturday, January 30th and extending through Sunday, February 14th, The Charleston City Market will be conducting an online auction of more than 20 high-quality art pieces donated from Lowcountry Artists. All proceeds (100%) from these auctions will be donated to Water Missions International. All artwork will be on display for the duration of the online auctions at Island Gallery located at 2214 Middle Street on Sullivans Island. Please call the gallery (843-882-8005) for store hours.
