Loving Family of 6 - Shona Sculpture

This elegant Ukama (Family) sculpture is handcrafted out of stone in Zimbabwe, Africa. The piece represents the unbreakable bonds and unity of the family.

This sculpture is carved entirely by hand, heated and then polished to accentuate the natural beauty of the stone. Shona art is regarded as perhaps the most important art form to emerge from Africa today. The fair wage that the artists receive enables them to support up to sometimes 20 family members.
