A great idea on the surface but does raise other issues. Can the human race really control the environment? Personally, No. It may provide shade and shelter for people and wildlife. Green Drinks is a dynamic group of individuals and organizations from around the Lowcountry who gather to enjoy cocktails, lively discussions, new friends, guest speakers, and good times. Green Drinks Charleston organized locally in 2006 and are proud to be the first chapter in the state.

I will be attending Charleston's first Green Business Networking event of 2009. I have been not making it a priority for too long! The event is on January 27th from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm on the second floor of the Tate Center (enter through the Beatty Center, 5 Liberty Street). While networking there will be brainstorming sheets available around the Tate Center for collecting ideas on how businesses can be more green.

I recently came across this article and it got me thinking about Food Security. This is it seems, a global challenge that does not receive enough attention. With the loss of biodiversity, we also loose varieties of food sources that are each unique in composition and nutrition. The Local First movement here and around the world has an important role to play in protecting local crop varieties.
